Grave For A Digital Pet

by Evelyn Kline

This pendant is a representation of a digital pet who has passed on. It is based off of Tamagotchis and other digital pets of the 90s and 2000s, and their ability to touch those who care for them. I am interested in what the toys we play with can tell us about our society, and the way that we relate to animals. What is it about a few pixels on the screen that can cause us to become so attached to them, and how will we react when they are no longer with us?
